Swedish King Karl Gustaf and Queen Silvia arrived today in Mumbai at 10.30 a.m. Chief Protocol Officer Nandkumar and senior police officers welcomed them at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport with a flower bouquet.
Deputy Secretary (Protocol) Umesh Madan and senior officers were present at the time. A cultural team of Maharashtra presented a cultural programme.

Mumbai, date.4th: Swedish King Carl Gustaf (XVI) and Queen Silvia visited the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thakare, Smt. Rashmi Thakare, Minister Subhash Desai, Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta, Businessman Kumar Manglam Bila, Ashok Hinduja, Sanjiv Bajaj and Ambassador of India to Sweden Smt. Monika Mohta were present at the time.
Discussions were made to strengthen cultural, industrial and social ties between both countries. Minister Subhash Desai and Chief Secretary Shri. Mehta gave the information about industrial situations in the state. An informal discussion was also held with present industrialists.

Mumbai, date.4th: Swedish King Carl and Queen Silvia visited Door Step School at Cuff Parade and communicated with the school students. Door Step School implements various programmes to create an interest in learning and encourage children who don’t go to school.
A classroom is made available in the school bus of ‘Chalti Firti Shala (Mobile School) and education is given to the children in this bus too. The bus stops where there are children not going to school and they are given education. As a result, children start liking school and they go to school. This school implements such an innovative initiative. Children without access to the school can get an education through this initiative and the literacy ratio increases, informed the Director of Door Step School Bina Seth Lashkari.
